At Life Is Chill, wellness is never one-size-fits-all—it’s personalized, inclusive, and rooted in compassion. That’s exactly why we partnered once again with Mint Cannabis to host another VIP dispensary tour for seniors, this time at their award-winning flagship dispensary in Tempe, Arizona.
On Wednesday, August 6th, 36 elders from two independent living communities were bussed in for a behind-the-scenes experience designed to empower and educate. For many, this wasn’t just their first dispensary tour—it was their first step into a new wellness journey.
The day kicked off with curiosity and a few nervous smiles. But within moments, guests were leaning into open conversations, asking meaningful questions, and learning about everything from how cannabis is cultivated to how softgel formulations like Chill Pills work differently than traditional edibles.
Carl Braunstein, a former medical dispensary team member from Connecticut, shared his perspective:
“I think it’s a great idea. It’s educational — and that’s important. The industry’s had so much bad press. People freak out because of that.”
Carl wasn’t the only one who appreciated the chance to reshape the narrative.
“This is the first time I’ve been in any kind of dispensary,” said one guest. “I don’t do drugs. I don’t drink or smoke. So I was a little hesitant. But this was very professional—beyond my expectations.”
The tour included a walk-through of Mint’s 12,000-square-foot Tempe dispensary, featuring their on-site cannabis kitchen and large grow facility. But the real highlight? The dialogue.
With Dr. Dana, our in-house senior education advocate, on hand to provide gentle, science-backed guidance, guests left with clarity on common concerns:
- Will I feel high?
- What options work for chronic pain or poor sleep?
- Can cannabis really be a safer alternative?
For many, the answer was a resounding yes.
A group leader from a local 55+ community reflected on how much has shifted:
“After talking to Dr. Dana, our residents are open to it. They now understand the medicinal side—it’s not just about getting high. They’re here for the health benefits.”
And those benefits were customized. Each attendee had a chance to speak one-on-one with wellness specialists and budtenders, receive product recommendations, and leave with swag, coupons, and resources to continue their exploration at home.

The senior community is one of the fastest-growing demographics in cannabis, and for good reason. Many are seeking alternatives to traditional pharmaceuticals—options with fewer side effects, more transparency, and better alignment with their personal values.
“People in the 55+ group need to know there are alternatives to Big Pharma,” one guest shared. “Options that can help just as much—if not more.”
Another attendee, Linda, summed it up best:
“It was amazing. They educated us. We told them what was wrong, and they really fine-tuned the suggestions. I’ll be back.”
This tour marked the second collaboration between Life Is Chill and Mint Cannabis, following a successful July event at Mint’s El Mirage location. We’re just getting started.
More tours are on the horizon—and we’re working on solutions to bring cannabis wellness directly to senior communities through scheduled deliveries and educational sessions on-site.
Because to us, cannabis wellness isn’t just about access—it’s about dignity, personalization, and choice.
At Life Is Chill, we believe education is the antidote to stigma. These events are proof that when we slow down, listen, and lead with science and empathy, transformation follows. We’re excited for our next tour on October 7th where we’ll be bringing over 30 elders to tour the JARS Dispensary Arcadia location.
