What: Mint Cannabis, an operator of seven Valley dispensaries and two cultivation facilities in Arizona, will host a VIP dispensary tour for 30 seniors at Tempe dispensary, 5210 S. Priest Dr., at 11:30 am, Wednesday, Aug. 6. The tour is in partnership with Life is Chill, an Arizona-based company that specializes in cannabis-infused wellness products.
The Mint’s 12,000-square-foot dispensary in Tempe is not only its flagship location, it’s a cannabis destination – it introduced the nation’s first cannabis kitchen of its kind in 2018; added a large on-site grow in 2019; implemented an on-site drive-thru in 2020; and introduced a free airport shuttle in 2022. The 30 seniors who will participate in the Aug. 6 tour will have an opportunity to ask questions about the cannabis industry in a comfortable setting, and see the dispensary’s on-site cannabis kitchen, grow, and drive-thru. They’ll also receive a goodie bag along with products, swag, and coupons. Why: Seniors are looking for safe, therapeutic, and alternative options for their health care needs; however, they may not be entirely familiar with cannabis or knowledgeable about how a dispensary works. Through customized, educational tours, those 55 years of age and better can learn more about the benefits of cannabis in an approachable, comfortable setting.
In early July, Mint Cannabis teamed up with Life is Chill to host a tour for approximately 15 seniors at the dispensary operator’s El Mirage location, where they learned more about the benefits of cannabis. Team members from Mint Cannabis led the tour, answered questions, and assisted participants in selecting the right products for their individual needs. The tour was such a success, that the dispensary operator and cannabis product vendor are not only planning more tours, but are also working on a plan to initiate regular deliveries to senior living communities.
James W., a cancer patient who attended the El Mirage dispensary tour, said he would absolutely recommend the experience to others. “A lot of people are still hesitant to come into a dispensary – there’s still a stigma that shouldn’t be there,” he said. “I think this is the time to really help people understand the benefits.”
